Advanced Plasma Power (“APP”) receives US$5M investment from Leveraged Green Energy

Leveraged Green Energy strengthen partnership with Advanced Plasma Power.

Advanced Plasma Power (“APP”), the UK’s first waste to energy company using breakthrough Gasplasma® technology, received an additional US$5 million investment from Leveraged Green Energy (“LGE”), a US renewable energy fund, in exchange for around 4.5% of the company.

LGE initially invested US$10 million into APP in April 2009; reserving the option to make a further investment based on performance.  In addition, the parties formed a joint venture called Plasma Green Energy (“PGE”) to market and licence the APP technology in Eastern Europe and Canada.

Robert M. Clark (LGE Chief Operating Officer) said, “Both companies have experienced excellent progress in the last 18 months with full and maturing project pipelines.  LGE regards this as the right moment to extend our shareholding in APP and demonstrate our commitment to the partnership.”

Simon Merriweather (APP Chief Executive Officer) acknowledged that the development and validation of the Gasplasma® technology by Fichtner (the international independent consulting engineers), the performance of APP’s Swindon Gasplasma® plant and the development of the customer projects had been significant factors in LGE’s decision.

Mr. Merriweather said, “We are delighted with the continuing support of LGE and of course all our shareholders.  As well as being a strong funding partner, LGE offers unique operational skills and understanding in emerging Eastern European markets and Canada.”
